1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using closetiq.net and any associated pages, tools, or features (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of service

ClosetIQ is a free, AI-powered outfit generation and personal styling tool. The Service allows users to:

• Generate complete styled outfit recommendations based on their style preferences, occasion, budget, and body type.
• Upload photos to receive AI-generated outfit breakdowns and shoppable product suggestions.
• Log wardrobe items and receive outfit suggestions that incorporate their existing clothing.
• Browse curated outfit looks and access product links for individual items.

The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by affiliate commissions earned when users purchase products through links on the site. We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ClosetIQ. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use ClosetIQ only for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access or extract data from the Service without our prior written permission.
• Upload photos or other content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its underlying systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service.
• Use the Service to generate or distribute spam, phishing, or unsolicited commercial communications.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Collect or harvest any personal information about other users of the Service.

We reserve the right to block or restrict access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms or whose use we deem harmful to the Service or its users.

5. AI-generated content

Outfit recommendations, style descriptions, and product suggestions on ClosetIQ are generated by artificial intelligence. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only and does not constitute professional styling, fashion, or purchasing advice.
• We do not guarantee that any product recommendation will be available, accurately described, or priced correctly at the time you attempt to purchase it.
• AI recommendations may occasionally contain errors, outdated information, or suggestions that do not fully match your stated preferences.
• You should verify product details — including availability, sizing, pricing, and return policies — directly with the retailer before making any purchase.
• ClosetIQ is not responsible for any purchase decision you make based on AI-generated recommendations.

6. Affiliate links and product recommendations

Many product links on ClosetIQ are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. We may participate in affiliate programs operated by retailers and networks such as Amazon Associates, ShareASale, Commission Junction, Impact, Rakuten Advertising, and others. Only programs we are actively enrolled in are in use at any given time.

7. Intellectual property

All content on ClosetIQ — including the ClosetIQ name, CIQ brand mark, site design, interface, and AI-generated text and outfit descriptions — is the property of ClosetIQ or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may view and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any content from ClosetIQ without our express written permission.

Product images and descriptions sourced from third-party retailers remain the property of those retailers and are subject to their respective terms.

8. User-provided content

When you upload photos or provide text inputs to the Service (such as style descriptions or wardrobe items), you grant ClosetIQ a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you during your active session.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you upload, and that your content does not violate the rights of any third party. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content, and we do not store photos beyond the active session in which they are used.

9. Third-party sites and services

The Service contains links to third-party retailer websites. ClosetIQ has no control over the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites. Links to third-party sites do not constitute endorsement of those sites. Your interactions with third-party retailers are governed solely by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party sites.

10. Disclaimers of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CLOSETIQ DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
• ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
• ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED RECOMMENDATIONS OR PRODUCT INFORMATION.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CLOSETIQ AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of revenue, profits, data, or goodwill.
• Purchases made based on AI-generated recommendations.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
• Conduct of third-party retailers or affiliate partners.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClosetIQ and its owners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any content you submit to the Service; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 14 will survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which ClosetIQ is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice on the site. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
